Flapjacks!

  • I’m so happy that this section of the forum exists – I love food and cooking! Here’s a really simple recipe for flapjacks that has never failed me before! If it’s a cold day and I’m feeling a bit low, these always pick me up – and they’re surprisingly easy!

    Ingredients:

    175g butter

    175g golden syrup

    175 muscovado sugar

    350g porridge oats

The zest of half a lemon

Melt the butter, golden syrup and sugar together at a slow and low heat, making sure that the sugar is dissolved and everything is thoroughly combined. Take the mixture off the heat and add the porridge oats and lemon zest, mixing thoroughly to make sure all of the oats are coated in the sugary, buttery mix.

Line a tin with baking parchment and pour the flapjack mix in. Bake at 150 degrees centigrade for 40 minutes until the top is slightly browned. Make sure you leave it to cool for at least half an hour before you take it out of the tin and slice into whatever shape you want! I usually opt for squares. 🙂

    Enjoy!
